چکیده

The Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment aims at exploring the QCD phase diagram at large baryon densities in the beam kinetic energy range from 2AGeV to 11(40)AGeV (corresponding to center-of-mass energies of 2.7 < √ sNN < 4.9(8.9)GeV) at the SIS-100 (SIS-300) accelerator of FAIR/GSI. The CBM detector is designed to measure in a triggerless readout mode both bulk observables with large acceptance and rare diagnostic probes such as charmed particles and vector mesons decaying into lepton pairs with an unprecedented interaction rate of up to 10MHz. This contribution describes the concept of the experiment and its overall physics program and highlights observables that are sensitive to the phase structure like multi-strange hyperons.

R&D on Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors for the CBM Vertex Detector

The physics goals of the CBM experiment call for unprecedented flavour tagging performances out of reach of established silicon pixel detector technologies. Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS), developed in collaboration by IReS and LEPSI in Strasbourg since 1999, are promising candidates for the CBM vertex detector. A MAPS-prototype made of 1 million pixels covering a surface of 3.5cm2, thi...

Status of the CBM experiment

The Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at the Facility for AntiProton and Ion Research (FAIR) will explore the phase diagram of strongly interacting matter at highest net baryon densities and moderate temperatures. The CBM physics program will be started with beams delivered by the SIS 100 synchrotron, providing energies from 2 to 11 GeV/nucleon for heavy nuclei, up to 14 GeV/nucleon f...

Effects of standard and explicit cognitive bias modification and computer-administered cognitive-behaviour therapy on cognitive biases and social anxiety☆

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES This study examines the effects of a single session of Cognitive Bias Modification to induce positive Interpretative bias (CBM-I) using standard or explicit instructions and an analogue of computer-administered CBT (c-CBT) program on modifying cognitive biases and social anxiety. METHODS A sample of 76 volunteers with social anxiety attended a research site. At both ...

The Compressed Baryonic Matter Experiment at FAIR: Progress with feasibility studies and detector developments

The Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment is being planned at the international research center FAIR, under realization next to the GSI laboratory in Darmstadt, Germany. Its physics programme addresses the QCD phase diagram in the region of highest net baryon densities. Of particular interest are the expected first order phase transition from partonic to hadronic matter, ending in a criti...

A review on condition-based maintenance optimization models for stochastically deteriorating system

Condition-based maintenance (CBM) is a maintenance strategy that collects and assesses real-time information, and recommends maintenance decisions based on the current condition of the system. In recent decades, research on CBM has been rapidly growing due to the rapid development of computerbased monitoring technologies. Research studies have proven that CBM, if planned properly, can be effect...
